Rock Road Library: now we can breathe again

by admin on 31 August, 2012

It was great news to hear at a recent meeting of the Friends of Rock Road Library that the Conservative-led Cambridgeshire County Council has abandoned its ideas to close Rock Road Library. This is excellent news, and a tribute to all the people who have spent the past 18 months signing petitions, going to meetings and lobbying to keep it open.

The Friends support the work of the library and arrange community events to support it. They have recently announced a new service to raise funds for both library and Friends events:

Get your important pieces of paper laminated at just 20p a sheet. A great way to protect posters, signs, certificates and children’s pictures. Just ask the Librarian on duty.

Wine glass hire is coming soon, just £3 for 36 glasses, saving a trip across town on a Monday morning! Details to be finalised, keep an eye on the Friends’ website: http://rockroadlibrarygarden.blogspot.co.uk/
