Council grants for leisure and community groups

by admin on 17 February, 2013

Cambridge City Council gives community development and leisure grants to young people’s groups, sports teams, social clubs, community associations etc. The money can help with events, equipment or outings. Recent examples are the Cherry Hinton Festival, marquées and Christmas outings.

Priority is given to projects that help people disadvantaged by disability, low income or discrimination. Applications are invited from community groups and voluntary organizations, groups of local residents who can demonstrate the accountability requirements, or a combination.

Applications should be made to the Community Development Grants Team at the City Council, and will be decided by the area committees: for Queen Edith’s, this is the  South Area Committee, which meets approximately every two months at the Cherry Hinton Village Centre. The next deadline is 22nd April and the grants will be decided on 9th May.

For more information on grants, and to download forms and eligibility rules, see the Council’s website or contact Elaine Shortt, Senior Grants Officer, tel 01223 457968, or email [email protected].
