Yellow lines update

by Amanda Taylor on 10 September, 2017

Last year, there were several successful bids to the  County Council Local Highways Improvement Initiative for this area.

The Traffic Regulation order for parking restrictions has been advertised for Netherhall Way, Chalk Grove and Beaumont Road. TRO for Netherhall Chalk and Beaumont.  (NB The file says Netherhall Road instead of Netherhall Way but I have asked for this to be corrected.) Comments are invited until 29th September. If there are objections, these will be determined by the Cambridge Joint Area Committee when it next meets.

Frustratingly, the County Council has now put the Lichfield Road parking restrictions v2 on hold. These will now not be advertised until after the consultation on residents’ parking in that area. This is regrettable, since restrictions will be needed whether or not a parking scheme goes ahead, and it is a pity this was not foreseen. Bus passengers will be relieved to know that the yellow lines for the bus stop will be going ahead.

Yellow lines for Topcliffe Way DYL 001-1  are to be advertised soon.

Officers will shortly be drawing up plans for Cavendish Avenue and Godwin Way. Because most of the extra parking is connected with the sixth form college and the primary school respectively, it was thought sensible to wait till the beginning of term to get a true picture of the parking.
