Here is the County Council’s latest update on the works at the Robin Hood junction:

Work taken place in the last week?

       Northwest Corner – Cherry Hinton Road to Junction with High Street Complete kerbing and path edgings.Complete installation of chambers, ducts and sockets.Complete installation of drainage – gully pots and connections.Reinstate footpaths with sub-base.               Southeast Corner – Fulbourn Road to Junction with Queen Edith’s Way Continue excavation of existing verge and footpath to formation whilst avoiding numerous underground services.Commence re-kerbing adjacent to carriageway.Commence duct laying for fibre network.        Significant Issues: Instructions received to include additional ducting for fibre cable network.Existing duct belonging to BT exposed in existing verge – sampling and testing required for asbestos and appropriate action to be carried out.   

Work to be completed in the next week?

Northwest Corner – Cherry Hinton Road to Junction with High Street Install tactile paving.Commence resurfacing of footpaths.        Southeast Corner – Fulbourn Road to Junction with Queen Edith’s Way Continue excavation of verge and footpaths to formation.Continue with kerbing and footpath edgings.

Revised programme to be issued incorporating the additional fibre ducting work required.
