LIB DEM GEORGE PIPPAS HOLDS QUEEN EDITH’S CITY COUNCIL SEAT

by admin on 10 May, 2015

IMG_3259SmThank you to all those who supported the Liberal Democrats in last Thursday’s elections.

Amidst the political whirlwind, our city councillor George Pippas retained his seat with a good majority, with Labour and the Conservatives in second and third places respectively. Thank you for this vote of confidence.

Thanks must also go to those who voted for Liberal Democrat Sebastian Kindersley in the General Election. Local votes are not counted separately, but we know the Queen Edith’s votes were split evenly between the three main parties. Sadly, this was not the case in the rest of the rural constituency in which we find ourselves, and the Lib Dems dropped to third place. We must congratulate the new Conservative MP fo South Cambridgeshire, Heidi Allen.

Here are the results:

Queen Edith’s, Cambridge City Council, 7th May 2015

George Pippas, Lib Dem 1502 (34%)

Matt Worth, Labour 1102 (25%)

Andrew Bower, Con 1093 (25%)

Candido Channell, UKIP 213 (5%)
