The Queen Edith’s lights are on — Happy Christmas!

by admin on 18 December, 2010

The Mayor of Cambridge visited Wulfstan Way on Tuesday and was met by a crowd of 150-200 people outside the shops.

The lights came on as planned last night and all worked. The Mayor stayed and sang carols with us, listened to local school and church choirs and hears a short talk about how Christmas trees fit in with the Nativity story.

Even Father Christmas was delayed by Cambridge traffic City traffic but managed to make it, to great appreciation from the many children present.

The CHYPPS Team provided hot chocolate and cold mince pies and Authentic Cakes did brisk business with hot mince pies.

Thanks to the fire service and police for joining us and to everyone who worked hard to make it a success. It was brilliant to see the Queen Edith’s Community come together like this and we hope this year’s event is the first of many. Happy Christmas to everyone.
